Almost a year with my irlen lenses

This year has been a fabulous year for me because I have my irlen lenses and the help I need after all this time .It's amazing to having the help I need now . It been just most amazing year of my life . Here is one of my poems.

There was a dark cloud
That was affecting my life
No matter how I had tried nothing would remove the cloud
until about two year ago
when I found out what it was
It's is Irlen syndrome.
I thought I was stupid or  a freak.
Because it hard for me understand
what I have Irlen syndrome mean
I thought was on my own
It's really held me back from learning things
It's affected my self-esteem and my confidence.
Until I found out other people have it
It make me feel better about having it
Now I have my Irlen spectral filters this year
They have turned my life around
Now I am living my life without discomfort.
I don't think I am stupid or a freak  anymore
I am blessed to have the Irlen method in my life
They have changed my life forever.

Two month since having my irlen glasses .

Hi Blog reader just a quick update

I have had my irlen glasses for two month My life is amazing now I have started writing stories and poetry now when I get time I will post one of my poem on my blog for you all to see .

I have my first pairs of irlen filters

I finally got funding for my irlen filter from the Mendicants and had my diagnostic test until last Thursday . So now I have to wait 4 weeks or 5 weeks for to come . so It's is going to made a huge different to my life . I have three layers blue and two purples . so I hope all my blog reader will like my post today .

What make my life eastier now

I decide use this tilie  Because people who have comment so far know I have dyslexia and Irlen syndrome  . What make my life eastier now.

I used Aqua blue overlays when I cross stitch because there help me see the patterns .

When I go shopping  I wear a pair of blue tinted sunglasses . which  stopped me getting headaches from the shopping lighting .

I used pukka pads for course with St John .Because  there  are very good for people with Irlen syndrome .

I used coloured paper when I am in the house  to  do things a my reading comprehension diary


But  I wish Remploy  would  stopping play silly games with me  and Getting me  my English and math training and dyslexia tutoring  because can't  getting a job without the training.

It been a year now since I was diagnosed with Irlen syndrome . So here are the things I have notice  since my diagnosed with irlen syndrome.

I writing property now
But I still cant spelling property

After struggled all through my school years and two years of college with my reading and writing. Because no one believe my parents when they said there was something else than dyslexia . So I got referred to Remploy which change my life  Because I had lots of different tested and The person said I would like to referred you for a Irlen screening . So on febrauary 8  I went for my Irlen screening  where I got a big suprize . Before I couldn't read without distortion  . I got to pick a colour  I pick Aqua blue overlay and was asked to read again  I got not believe it I got read property for the first time in my life . So finally been diagnosis with having both dyslexia and irlen syndrome was a bit scared and excited So This why I decide to share my story with other people so they know about Irlen syndrome also has scotopic sentivity syndrome or meare's Irlen syndrome .

But I still having to fight to get funding or a grant for £500 For My Irlen filters and tested So If anyone know where to go to get funding or a grant please contant me or leave a commet with where to go.
